Indonesia’s Central Bureau of Statistics, BPS, announced on 2 April that foreign tourist arrivals through Indonesia’s main entry ports totaled 888.3 thousand, an increase of 5.26% compared to the same month of February in 2015. Whereas, compared to the previous month of January, numbers increased with a significant 9.09%, due to the long Chinese New Year holidays.
While, when accumulating arrivals in the first two months of the year, Indonesia received 1.7 million foreign visitors, being an increase of 4.43% year on year, where 2015 recorded 1.63 million foreign during the same two months, reported detik.com
Among Wonderful Indonesia’s many destinations, Bali remains the country’s top contributor having seen a growth of 10.19% in February 2016, recording a total of over 367,000 short stay visitors against 333,100 visitors the same month in 2015. Compared to the previous month of January, the month of February gained 6.9%, again confirming Bali as Indonesia’s top tourism draw with a share of over 41% among total international visitor arrivals to Indonesia.
